Quick Update: Mike Maresca Gaining Steam After Pair of Strong Runs, Top-10 at FondaTuesday - July - 2017
POTSDAM, NY – July 10, 2017 – Mike Maresca is coming off his best week of the season in Big-Block Modified action. What was supposed to be four straight nights of racing was reduced to just two events.
Maresca started the weekend with his first-ever start at Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY with the Super DIRTcar Series. Maresca timed fourth-quick in his group. He followed the qualifying effort with his first Super DIRTcar Series heat race win of the season. In the 100-lap Feature, he came home 11th.
After another rainout at Mohawk Int’l Raceway on July 7, Maresca refocused for Fonda Speedway on Saturday, July 8. He earned a second-place finish in his heat and then raced to a sixth-place result in the main event.
“We had a good weekend overall,” Maresca said. “Airborne was great. I just made some small mistakes and ended up 11th. At Fonda, we tried some different things and it went well. Overall, we are learning and getting a little better each weekend.”
The Super DIRTcar Series was rained out on Sunday, July 9 at Cornwall Motor Speedway, Maresca’s former home track. A rain date has not yet been announced.
Maresca will return to action on Tuesday, July 11 at Weedsport Speedway for the Hall of Fame 100. For the most up to date information on Mike Maresca’s 2017 schedule, visit www.mikemaresca7.com.
